Spoken World

A UK first for spoken word and new music

Overview

After two successful concerts, No Dice have teamed up with poet George Thomas Miaris to bring you a new night of compositions from Manchester-based artists. We challenged three composers to underscore spoken word by emerging performance poets Tom Roberts, Tilly Woodhouse and George Thomas Miaris.
Poetics and players continue to mix in Robin Wallington’s ‘Diptych’, Berio’s seminal ‘O King’, and Benjamin Marrington-Reeve’s Berio-inspired ‘Aurea’.
A first for UK spoken word and a risk for all of those involved. This could go terribly wrong or wryly right. Either way, there’s poetry, pints and a seven piece orchestra throughout the night.
